Islam is a misunderstood religion. Islam, not surprisingly identified as terrorist by those who has mission and is widely critisized by believed by those who have little or no knowledge about Islam, the faith, its teachings and its philosophy.

People may wonder to hear that Islam is the most progressive religion, which was first to confer fundamental rights on all the humanbeings and which advocated for the equality of men, women, on all basis. It opposed all discrimination, be that of caste, creed or faith.
The concept of human right is relatively newer and a modern one. Several hundred years ago, nobody in the West knew about this. But Islam, had bestowed all rights-based on humanity- fifteen centuries ago, on Muslims and non-muslims alike, at the time its advent.
Ironically, people in today’s world and even the scholars are not aware of the hard facts in this regard.

Islam, as a progressive religion was the first among faiths to uphold the dignity of the individual and protection of one’s personal and as well as social rights. It stood for the basic and fundamental rights of each and every human being.
The phenomenon, now known as human right has always been preached and practised by Islam. Interestingly, the West woke up centuries later and began championing the same cause, while followers of Islam had consistently been doing so for over a millennium. The human rights idea is universal now, it has virtually been accepted by all Nations, States and Societies, the wold over. Over the years, the concept of human right has assumed importance globally. In fact, the respect for Human rights only, makes freedom meaningful and really effective. Islam teaches the same.
